York City 0-0 Plymouth Argyle

  • Published

York earned a point against promotion-chasers Plymouth, despite playing for 70 minutes with only 10 men.

Stephane Zubar was shown a straight red card following an altercation with Pilgrims defender Peter Hartley, who was booked.

Despite their numerical disadvantage, York had good chances to lead through Luke Summerfield and Jake Hyde.

Argyle's only real second-half opportunity saw Lewis Alessandra's header saved by keeper Alex Cisak.

Wilcox on York City v Plymouth

York City manager, Russ Wilcox told BBC Radio York:

"So proud tonight. We lost a man after 20 minutes but you couldn't tell.

"We had to change our game plan and sit deep a little bit without the ball and frustrate.

"That's the only way to play on the counter attack and it nearly worked. We had an outstanding chance to end the game.

"A tinge of disappointment but it was an immense performance today."
