Cheltenham Town are to sign young Liverpool trio Lloyd Jones, Kevin Stewart and Jack Dunn on loan.

Centre-half Jones, 19, central midfielder Stewart, 21, and striker Dunn, 20 are all available for Saturday's League Two game at Oxford after agreeing deals lasting a month.

"We'll have them for two sessions ahead of our game against Oxford," boss Paul Buckle told BBC Radio Gloucestershire.

"I wouldn't bring in players who are not going to be involved," he added.

"They've come in because the squad is so small and I felt we needed support.

About Cheltenham's Liverpool loan stars

Plymouth-born Wales Under-18 international defender Jones was on the Liverpool bench for the Reds' Premier League game at Fulham in May 2013.

London-born midfielder Stewart joined Liverpool's Academy in July 2014 after leaving Tottenham Hotspur, where he first worked under Alex Inglethorpe.

Liverpudlian Dunn came off the bench to score in a post-season friendly for Liverpool at Shamrock Rovers in May 2014.

"I've got an excellent relationship with Alex Inglethorpe, Liverpool's Academy director. I had players off him when he was at Tottenham and I went up to Liverpool some months ago and saw all these players play."

The deals for the three academy players will officially go through when the January transfer window reopens on 3 January at 00:00 GMT.

Buckle has also revealed that midfielder Jason Taylor is to leave to join another League Two club.
