Jason Taylor: Northampton Town loan becomes six-month deal

Taylor had not played for Cheltenham since their FA Cup defeat by non-league Dover on 7 December

Northampton Town have turned midfielder Jason Taylor's loan spell into a contract until the end of the season following his release by Cheltenham.

With the transfer window not opening until this week, the 27-year-old had initially joined on loan so he could figure in Saturday's 1-1 draw with Southend.

Taylor played 74 games for the Robins since joining them two years ago.

He previously had spells at Stockport, Rotherham and Rochdale.
