Morecambe failed to score for the third home game in succession, but avoided defeat against Tranmere in a poor game at the Globe Arena.

The hosts' Kevin Ellison lobbed a shot just wide late in a dour first half.

Tranmere's Marc Laird squandered the best chance of the game soon after - heading over with the goal gaping.

Jack Renshaw volleyed straight at goalkeeper Owain Fon Williams at the other end, but neither side did enough to force a victory.
