Alan Pardew: Crystal Palace boss to sign 'a player or two' in January

New Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew says the club is in a "sticky" situation and needs to bring in players during the transfer window.
Palace are without a win in eight league outings and sit third-bottom of the Premier League after 20 games.
"It's a little bit sticky at the moment but we need to find a route out of that," Pardew said.
"I think we're going to need a player or two at least and that's what we're going to try to do."
Pardew was confirmed as Neil Warnock's successor as Palace manager on Saturday, signing a three-and-a-half-year deal after leaving Newcastle.

Pardew has strong links with Palace having played for the club between 1987 and 1991. He also scored the winning goal as the Eagles beat Liverpool 4-3 after extra time in the 1990 FA Cup semi-finals.
"Fans love you when you've done something good for the club, and they remember that era that I was in fondly," he added.
"They admire the spirit of that era and I think they'd like to see more of that, and hopefully I can bring that back.
"Every time I came back here it was always a lovely welcome and a nice feeling. I knew at some point I would have worked for this because really and truly my home is in this area."
Palace's last victory was a 3-1 home win over Liverpool on 23 November.
They have claimed two points from their last two games - successive away goalless draws at QPR and Aston Villa.
Palace's next Premier League outing is at home to Tottenham on 10 January, while Pardew will face his old side on 11 February when Newcastle visit Selhurst Park.
