Peterborough United have signed Rotherham goalkeeper Scott Loach on a one-month loan deal.

The 26-year-old former Watford player has made seven appearances this season, three of them during a Bury loan spell.

Posh's first-choice keeper Ben Alnwick is expected to be out for up to two months with a thigh injury.

Loach was once called up to train with the England squad in 2010 and was reportedly watched by Manchester City, external in the same year.

But he has failed to hold down a regular spot at the Millers, who he joined from Ipswich Town in the summer.

"I jumped at the opportunity of coming to Peterborough," said Loach. "As a keeper, you need first-team football and when I heard of the club's interest, it was a move I was keen to make."
