Cardiff City: Kim Bo-Kyung leaves the Bluebirds by mutual consent

South Korea international midfielder Kim Bo-Kyung has left Cardiff City by "mutual consent".

Kim, 25, joined the Welsh club for around £2m from Japanese side Cerezo Osaka in July 2012.

He made 64 appearances for the Welsh club scoring three goals and represented his country at the 2014 World Cup.

Meanwhile manager Russell Slade says goalkeeper David Marshall will be out for two to three weeks.

The Scottish goalkeeper has had a minor operation on an ankle injury.

Kim last played for Cardiff City in the 5-3 defeat away against Bournemouth on 13 December.

The club released a statement thanking Kim for "his contribution" and wishing him all the "very best for his future."

It read: "Cardiff City Football Club can confirm that Kim Bo-Kyung's contract with the club has been terminated by mutual agreement.

"The player leaves Cardiff City with immediate effect."
