FA Cup: Man Utd game is 'nothing to lose' for Preston North End

Preston have won their last three games in all competitions

Preston North End boss Simon Grayson says his team can look forward to hosting Manchester United in their FA Cup fifth-round tie.

The Lilywhites face the Premier League side on Monday in the first meeting between the two since 1972.

North End currently sit fourth in the League One, 43 places behind Louis van Gaal's side, fifth in the top tier.

"We've got nothing to lose and everything to gain, and that is what we'll do," said Grayson.

He told BBC Radio Lancashire: "We'll go and enjoy playing against some of the best players in the world - fantastic atmosphere, massive profile for the football club and a tie we're looking forward to and should enjoy.

"Hopefully we'll do ourselves justice, but what we've done is focus on the last two league games and getting results and performances."

Preston have beaten Havant & Waterlooville, Shrewsbury, Norwich and came through a replay with League One rivals Sheffield United to reach this stage.

Grayson famously was in charge when third-tier side Leeds knocked Manchester United out of the FA Cup with a 1-0 win at Old Trafford in 2010.

The man who scored that day, Jermaine Beckford, is now with Preston, on loan from Championship side Bolton.

"Well that [goal] was away from home," joked Grayson.

"We certainly aren't going to be underestimating them.

"I'll say to my players when they walk out 'go enjoy yourself and have no regrets'."

England boss Roy Hodgson will join Gary Lineker in the Match of the Day studio for Preston against Manchester United at Deepdale which is being broadcast live on BBC One and the BBC Sport website.
