Partick Thistle 0-3 Celtic: Deila now enjoying Celtic role

Ronny Deila led the celebrations after Celtic defeated Partick Thistle 3-0.

Manager Ronny Deila feels he has now settled into Scottish football as Celtic moved three points clear at the top of the Premiership with a 3-0 win at Partick Thistle.

Both Gary Mackay-Steven and Stuart Armstrong scored on their debuts before the impressive Stefan Johansen completed the scoring.

"I feel much more comfortable when I go into the matches," Deila told BBC Scotland.

"I can see the players enjoying playing. For many games now we haven't conceded a goal and keep on winning and that's what we want.

"This club is about supporters and we want to entertain and make them happy and there's nothing that hurts more than disappointing them.

"So when we win and they are happy it's very good to celebrate together with them.

"It's tough to come to a new club especially when they are used to winning. You have to get your mark on the team, you can't be somebody else you have to do what you believe in and that takes time.

"I'm looking forward to every game now."

Celtic were ahead inside the opening minute and never looked in any danger of letting that lead slip as they move three points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership with a game still in hand over closest challengers Aberdeen.

"It was a very good performance from the team on a very difficult pitch to play on," said the Celtic manager after his seventh consecutive victory of the year.

"We win in a good way, good energy on the pitch. I think Partick Thistle played well as well and there was some very good intensity in the game."

Partick Thistle manager Alan Archibald thought his side should have had a penalty when Stuart Bannigan's shot hit the arm of Emilio Izaguirre with the score at 2-0.

He said: "We've had a couple of them against us, I don't think you get decisions against Celtic do you? I don't see many teams get them.

"We've had one penalty this year so I don't think we're going to get another one against Celtic."

Partick Thistle have now lost three games in a row

Archibald had made five changes to the side that lost in the Scottish Cup to Inverness Caledonian Thistle, but was left frustrated at yet another poor first half from his team.

"It was a terrible start," he said. "We took centre and we gave them the ball right back.

"When you play Celtic I think it's important you make them work for their goals and we gave them two goals certainly.

"I think a couple of them felt sorry for themselves when we went 2-0 down and stood off Celtic, and you can't do that.

"The good thing is I thought we created a couple of good chances in the second half and we caused them some problems down the side."
