Oldham Athletic 0-4 Preston North End

Preston made it five straight league wins as they moved level with second-placed MK Dons in League One in a dominant display at managerless Oldham.

Paul Gallagher's right-wing corner was powerfully headed home from eight yards by Paul Huntington early on.

On 32 minutes, ex-Oldham loanee Daniel Johnson burst into the box and rifled in a 14-yard shot to double the lead.

After the break, Joe Garner netted from close range before substitute Jermaine Beckford sealed the win.

Oldham caretaker manager Dean Holden told BBC Radio Manchester:

Holden on Oldham v Preston

"Disappointing day all round. It wasn't a 4-0 game in the fact that they've battered us, it's four poor goals from us which are all sort of individual bad decisions which we have to try and put right.

"I'm absolutely gutted. Even at 2-0 I had a good feeling we'd get back into it.

"We lost our shape second-half and lads started making poor decisions."
