Bastian Schweinsteiger headed his second goal of the season

Bayern Munich rattled in four more goals to make it 18 in their last three Bundesliga games to extend their lead at the top of the table to 11 points.

Bastian Schweinsteiger headed the early opener from a corner before Frank Ribery steered home a low 20-yarder.

A header from Anthony Ujah just before the break gave Cologne hope.

But top-scorer Arjen Robben headed in his 19th goal of the season to make it 3-1 before Robert Lewandowksi chested in a Robben cross to wrap up the win.

Bayern made the perfect start when Schweinsteiger headed in Robben's corner powerfully and, as well as Ribery's fine finish, they had chances to build a bigger lead.

But after Ujah headed in his eighth goal of the season from a Matthias Lehmann cross in first-half stoppage time, Bayern keeper Manuel Neuer had to save well from the Nigerian international as he threatened a second goal with an hour gone.

However, Robben's far-post header from a Ribery cross after 67 minutes removed any doubt about the outcome and Pep Guardiola's side missed further chances before Lewandowksi finished from close range to take his goal tally for the season to 13.

Second-placed Wolfsburg play at Werder Bremen on Sunday.
