AC Milan's stuttering form continued with a drab goalless draw at relegation-threatened Chievo.

Filippo Inzaghi's side now have just two wins in 10 league games and sit ninth, 11 points off the top three.

They came close on 48 minutes when half-time substitute Keisuke Honda smacked the bar from 20 yards.

But Chievo, now up to 15th, were the better side late-on and Ezequiel Schelotto was denied a winner from long range as Diego Lopez tipped over.

The Spanish goalkeeper had earlier denied Sergio Pellissier a one-on-one opportunity and was nearly found wanting when Brazilian defender Alex almost put through his own net.

Milan have beaten Chievo 16 times in 18 meetings and will see a draw at Stadio Marcantonio Bentegodi as two points dropped.

The 18-time champions of Italy could now fall into the bottom-half of the table if Torino or Palermo record home wins on Sunday.
