Plymouth Argyle dropped out of the League Two play-off places as Dagenham won for the third time in four games.

Abu Ogogo put the home side ahead as he reacted quickest after Ashley Chambers was tackled by Curtis Nelson.

Reuben Reid missed a chance to equalise soon after as he put Lewis Alessandra's cross over the bar from close range.

Ashley Hemmings missed two chances to increase the lead during the second half before Jamie Cureton scored to make sure of the win late on.

The result sees Dagenham move up to 15th in League Two, nine points above the relegation spots, while Plymouth are now a point off seventh place after Stevenage drew at Exeter and Newport won at Luton.

Dagenham & Redbridge boss Wayne Burnett told BBC London 94.9:

"I'm delighted with the performance and the result. Overall, it was a very accomplished performance.

"I didn't think they really troubled us. We looked strong, determined and we followed our game plan.

"I was really pleased that we limited them and we looked an attacking threat going forward.

"The goal has always been to stay in the league and if we can better that, then fantastic."
