Crewe Alexandra have agreed a deal to sign Watford striker Uche Ikpeazu on loan for a third time.

Ikpeazu, 20, will return to Gresty Road until the end of the season, having had a two-month spell with the League One club in November, when he scored twice in eight appearances.

He was recalled by Watford before going out on loan to Doncaster in January.

The striker spent the second half of the 2013-14 campaign with the Alex, scoring four goals in 15 games.

Having made seven appearances for Rovers, he returns to Crewe for the final 11 matches of the season with the club in 18th place, seven points above the relegation zone.

"We've been looking for his type of player ever since he left - there are not many about," manager Steve Davis told BBC Radio Stoke.

"The opportunity came to bring him back and I thought that was the right thing to do - he's what we need and it's the best option."

Davis said he was disappointed to lose Ikpeazu in January, just after they had agreed to extend his stay until the end of the season.

"I was surprised he went back. I don't think we'll ever get to the bottom of what happened," he added.

"The most important thing is to look forward now, he knows what Crewe's all about and he's coming into a good learning environment."
