Notts County 2-2 Scunthorpe United

Niall Canavan's late equaliser for Scunthorpe ensured the League One relegation tussle with Notts County ended all square at 2-2.

The Iron led after 70 seconds through Theo Robinson's header but Gary Jones's precise 25-yarder levelled things up.

Substitute Balint Bajner netted from 12 yards in the 73rd minute to leave County eyeing victory in their first match since sacking boss Shaun Derry.

But Canavan saved his side when he headed home Gary McSheffrey's cross.

The Magpies remain above the relegation zone on goal difference, while Scunthorpe are only a point better off.

Scunthorpe United boss Mark Robins told BBC Radio Humberside:

Robins on Notts County v Scunthorpe

"Well it's better than Tuesday night [the 4-0 loss at Sheffield United], put it that way. But I'm still disappointed for us and the supporters and everyone connected to the club. We're desperate to get these three points to get us back to winning ways.

"If we were dire, if we weren't playing well, if we didn't have any confidence and if I thought we were capitulating then we would be having a different conversation because we would be totally concerned.

"I think the way we played we have shown we're capable of coming back from adversity because, let's face it, they've not really done us any harm today."
