Karen Bardsley: Manchester City goalkeeper charged by FA

England keeper involved in fracas

England and Manchester City goalkeeper Karen Bardsley has been charged with violent conduct by the Football Association.

Bardsley, 30, was involved in an incident with Birmingham City forward Freda Ayisi during Sunday's 0-0 draw in Women's Super League One.

Ayisi was sent off in the 45th minute for her part in the incident.

Former Lincoln player Bardsley has been given until 18:00 BST on Tuesday, 31 March to respond to the charge.

An FA statement, external said the match officials did not see what happened but it was caught on video.
