Aberdeen midfielder Nicky Low has signed a pre-contract with Dundee, agreeing a three-year deal.

The 23-year-old had seen his first team opportunities limited at Pittodrie.

Manager Derek McInnes told the Aberdeen official website: "The option to sign an extended contract with a fellow Premiership club was one which Nicky felt he couldn't turn down.

"He's at an important stage in his career. I'd like to thank him for his efforts during my time with the club."

Low has had loan spells at Forfar and Alloa, and it was at Recreation Park where he worked under current Dundee boss Paul Hartley.

He featured in five of Aberdeen's six Europa League ties this season, and was one of the goal scorers in the penalty shoot-out win over Inverness Caledonian Thistle in the 2014 League Cup final.

However, he has not featured in the first team since October; a 3-2 win over Dundee.

Low becomes the third player to sign a pre-contract at Dens Park ahead of the 2015-16 season, with Falkirk striker Rory Loy and Alloa full-back Daryll Meggatt also agreeing deals.
