Aston Villa midfielder Gary Gardner had a loan spell with Brighton at the start of the season before joining Nottingham Forest in January
On-loan Nottingham Forest midfielder Gary Gardner says he would return to the Championship club if he cannot make an impact at Aston Villa.
The 22-year-old has scored four goals in 17 appearances for Dougie Freedman's side since signing in January.
Gardner, who has made just five career starts for Villa, told BBC Radio Nottingham he had 'enjoyed every minute' of his time at the City Ground.
"If it doesn't work out at Villa, I love this club," he said.
"If there was another chance for me to come back and play here I'd definitely come back.
"This club here has given me a chance to get back to my best, so I couldn't thank them enough."
Nottingham Forest are currently 11th in the Championship with two games left to play.
