Kidderminster Harriers: Two more join board at Aggborough

Kidderminster Harriers won just once in 111 home games at Aggborough from Christmas onwards

Kidderminster Harriers have appointed one of their former players Colin Gordon in the new position of football development director at Aggborough.

Stourbridge-born Gordon, 52, who been a football agent since his playing career ended, is joined on the board by Mike Morris, who will be responsible for the 'overall maintenance' of Aggborough.

"Colin has much to offer in different areas," said chairman Rod Brown.

"These two new additions to the board represent very exciting news."

Brown, who himself only joined the Harriers board on 17 March, took over as chairman on 14 April, following the resignation of Ken Rae, along with fellow directors Gino Ruffinato and John Davies.

He believes Gordon's presence will be a big help to Harriers boss Gary Whild, after a poor season in which the financially-struggling Conference club finished 16th - their lowest league position since 1998.

"Colin is a former Harriers player and a personal friend of mine and Gary Whild," said Brown. "He has a huge profile in the game through his player management company. He knows a lot of people in the football fraternity and his contacts will be invaluable.

"He will assist Gary in player recruitment but his main role will be helping the club's youth development area and trying to drive the Academy forward and making it even more successful than it already is.

"His appointment offers a great opportunity for Harriers on so many different levels. To be able to get him on board is fantastic.

"Mike is a former board member. He and his family are lifelong Kidderminster Harriers supporters. His responsibility as director will be to govern the ground and overall stadium maintenance, an area he specialised in with his previous role before retirement."
