Chelsea Ladies delight at reaching 'surreal' Wembley cup final

Chelsea Ladies will face Notts County in the FA Women's Cup final at Wembley on 1 August

Chelsea Ladies midfielder Millie Bright says playing in the first ever Wembley FA Women's Cup final will be "surreal".

The Women's Super League leaders booked their place in August's final with a 1-0 win over Manchester City on Monday.

"We showed true determination," Bright, 21, told BBC Sport. "It's a massive achievement and we truly deserve it.

"I don't think you can put it into words what it means. It's just going to be a surreal moment for us all. We're going to have to enjoy it."

Emma Hayes' side, who are still searching for the first major trophy of the club's history, are unbeaten in all competitions this season.

"For any team to get to Wembley, honestly it's a dream come true, for me as much as the players," Chelsea boss Hayes told BBC Sport.

"As far as I'm concerned it's a great day for Chelsea, but we haven't won anything yet."

Chelsea captain Katie Chapman has won the FA Women's Cup eight times with four clubs but says this year's final will be special.

"It's what you dream of and, this year, especially being at Wembley, it's magical," the 32-year-old added."

Notts County also made it through to the final, beating Everton 3-0 on Sunday.
