Graham Westley: Stevenage manager hints he could leave

Stevenage manager Graham Westley has hinted he could leave the club when his contract expires on 31 May.

Boro were knocked out of the League Two play-offs on Thursday after a 3-1 extra-time defeat at Southend.

They were hoping for an immediate return to League One, having been relegated last season.

"The chairman and I spoke a couple of weeks ago and it's conceivable I won't get to work with these lads any longer," the 47-year-old said.

"My contract runs out at the end of the month and it's not been decided what's going to happen there.

"But we'll see how things pan out - it's early days in that regard," he told BBC Three Counties Radio.

Westley re-joined Stevenage in March 2013 for his third spell as manager after 13 months in charge at Preston North End.

Asked directly whether he wanted to stay at the club, Westley replied:

"My contract expires on 31 May and I'm like any human being, I've got bills that need paying.

"And things at the club are going to change I think.

"We'll see how things evolve in the coming days and the coming weeks."
