Relegated AFC Telford hope to Ian Sharps on a more permanent basis by recruiting him on a one-season deal.

Former Shrewsbury Town defender Sharps, 34, originally arrived on loan from League Two side Burton Albion in February until the end of the season.

But, following his release by Burton, Sharps has agreed to spend next season at the Bucks Head - and he is also likely to take on coaching duties.

Midfielder Mike Grogan, 26, has also agreed to stay.

Grogan, who was first brought to the club by Liam Watson in September 2013, was their player of the year when they went up from Conference North in his first season.

Telford have also brought in former Worcester City and Solihull Borough midfielder Jay Denny, who is based in Telford, on non-contract terms.
