  4. Honda tipped to deliver the goods

    Formula 1

Honda will deliver a winning engine despite the slow start to its Formula 1 return, Mercedes' engine boss says.

Honda's engine has been F1's least competitive at the start of the company's new relationship with McLaren this year.

The team are targeting race wins in 2016 and the title with Fernando Alonso, who has a deal until 2017.

Mercedes' Andy Cowell told BBC Sport: "They are McLaren-Honda. They can win world championships."

  5. West Brom v Chelsea (Mon, 20:00 BST)

    Football

Some more stats ahead of tonight's Premier League game which is live on Radio 5 live and commentary on the BBC Sport website.

West Brom have lost 17 times so far in all competitions this season (compared to Chelsea's two) - although only five of those defeats have come in the league since Pulis has taken over.

And Jose Mourinho has been very complimentary about his Baggies counterpart in the build-up to tonight's contest.

"If I own an English club, I sign Tony Pulis," Mourinho said. "It's as simple as that - he's a guarantee to achieve what the club wants."

Whether Jose would be that friendly if the title was still at stake is open to debate...

Smith also claimed Holmes was not good enough to play in the top division.

  10. West Brom v Chelsea (Mon, 20:00 BST)

    Football

    These teams have history.

In November 2013, Eden Hazard scored the most controversial of stoppage-time penalties to salvage a 2-2 draw for Chelsea that - at the time - extended Jose Mourinho's run of home Premier League matches without defeat to 66.

    getty

West Brom's Steven Reid - who earlier announced his retirement from football - was adjudged to have fouled Ramires for what appeared to anyone other than a Chelsea fan to be an innocuous coming-together.

The Baggies will hope to feel a little less aggrieved after tonight's meeting.

The BBC Sport website will have live commentary of the match from 18:30 BST.

  11. Silver for Sansum

    Taekwondo

  12. West Brom v Chelsea (Mon, 20:00 BST)

    Football

One game tonight in the Premier League. It may be a bit of a dead rubber but here are a few interesting stats.

Tony Pulis has won only one of his 12 Premier League matches as a manager against Chelsea (D2, L9), when his Crystal Palace team won 1-0 at Selhurst Park in March 2014.

Chelsea need one more goal to set a new club Premier League record for most away goals in a season. Their current tally of 37 equals 2004-05.

West Brom have conceded a league-high 20 goals from set pieces this season (including penalties). However, only Arsenal (21) have scored more set-piece goals than the Baggies (20).

Chelsea are unbeaten in 16 league matches (W11, D5) - the longest run in the division this season.

  15. Ings "upset" by social media abuse

    Football

Burnley's Danny Ings says he has been upset by abuse he has received on Twitter.

Boss Sean Dyche said he expects the striker to leave the club in the summer when his contract ends.

"Chris Dent and Gareth Roderick are out, falling to Calum Haggett and Darren Stevens respectively."

  19. Uefa to rethink rules

    Football

    Uefa president Michel Platini

In an interview with French radio station RTL, Uefa president Michel Platini said FFP was "working well" but would be "eased" this summer.

    Football

Former Southampton boss Lawrie McMenemy believes last summer's appointment of Ronald Koeman as manager was a "masterstroke" by the club.

Saints are currently seventh in the table, but could finish as high as fifth - which would be the club's highest Premier League finish.

The money was there and he used it very wisely and brought in players he obviously knew," McMenemy, 78, told BBC South Today. "It's all to do with the management in the end, and he got them in and got the best out of them, and we can look forward with hope that we can do even better."

McMenemy was manager of Saints in the 1980s. Here's how Ronald looked back then...

"The scoring system crashed and when it returned, I didn't have the points. I couldn't understand why. I still can't," Jones told the GB Taekwondo website.

    Golf

It has got a bit lost amid Rory McIlroy's heroics on the other side of the Atlantic, but England's James Morrisonwon the Spanish Open by four strokes on Sunday to claim a second European Tour title.

    Tennis

And while we're in tennis mode...

Andy Murray is playing the best tennis of his career and ranks behind only Novak Djokovic in the race to win the French Open, according to former British number one Annabel Croft.

"I think Murray's tennis is at a level now where it's almost as high if not higher than when he won Wimbledon and the US Open," Croft said.

"Beating Nadal in Madrid recently was a really big win mentally for him because he's always looked up to Nadal - but he also knows Nadal is well, well beneath his best.

"Now he can always say he beat Nadal on clay and in my mind he's the second favourite going into the French Open."

To celebrate this story, we've dug out the earliest picture of Murray and Djokovic that we could find. It's from 2006. Contrary to appearances, Andy is not, we repeat, not, wearing a wild animal on his head.

"I don't think I can persuade him because he knows everything that he has at Manchester United at this moment."

Sounds pretty cut and dried to us, which means United will be in market for a keeper this summer and De Gea needs a one-way airline ticket for Madrid.
