Hamilton: Defender Lucas signs new Accies contract

Brazilian defender Lucas has won a new contract with Hamilton Academical and has signed a deal at New Douglas Park until the end of next season.

The 24-year-old joined Accies in January after leaving Moldovan club Milsami Orhei and broke into the first team at the end of the campaign.

He told the Accies website that he is happy to remain at the club.

"I have enjoyed it here and learnt a lot since arriving - and adapting to the Scottish weather too," he said.

Lucas, full name Lucas Tagliapietra, has an Italian passport and has made two starts and four substitute appearances for Hamilton.
