Former Crawley Town captain Josh Simpson has turned down the offer of a new contract from the League Two club.

The 28-year-old midfielder scored 14 goals in 165 appearances after joining the Reds from Peterborough in 2010., external

Meanwhile Bobson Bawling, 19, has signed a new one-year deal and the club are still in discussions with fellow midfielder Conor Henderson.

Manager Mark Yates has decided to withdraw contract offers to midfielder Marvin Elliott and striker Dean Morgan.

Yates has also released nine other players from the West Sussex club.

Blair Anderson, Charles Banya, John Cofie, Bradley Isaacs, Brian Jensen, Dean Leacock, Emmett O'Connor, Ryan Richefond and Kelly Youga will all depart the Checkatrade.com Stadium.
