Dumbarton have signed former Ross County goalkeeper Mark Brown, while winger Willie Gibson has agreed a move from Stranraer.

The 34-year-old Brown has signed a two-year contract following his three-year spell with the Premiership club.

Sons manager Stevie Aitken said: "There were a few other full-time clubs after him, but our message of what a good place Dumbarton FC is has succeeded."

The Sons expect the 30-year-old Gibson to sign over the weekend.

Gibson played for Queen of the South, Kilmarnock, Dunfermline Athletic, Crawley Town, St Johnstone, Falkirk, Celtic Nation and Workington before joining Aitken at Stranraer last season.

He scored 10 goals in 35 appearances for the Blues and Aitken told his club website: "He's a versatile player who has great ability."

Brown made 25 appearances for County, having signed for the Dingwall outfit from Hibernian.

He started his career with Rangers before spells with Motherwell, Inverness Caledonian Thistle, Celtic and Kilmarnock.
