Northampton Town: Chris Wilder expects 'business as usual'

Northampton Town boss Chris Wilder says that it is "business as usual" despite uncertainty over the club's ownership.

The League Two side are set to be taken over by an Indian consortium after both parties signed a heads of terms agreement last week.

"As far as I'm concerned, it's business as usual," the former Oxford boss told BBC Radio Northampton.

"I'll be trying to add finishing touches to a squad that I'm sure will go well this year."

He added: "We've made some excellent signings, we're very close on another goalkeeper today and we recognise that we still need to bring in a centre-half, midfield player and a forward player."

Wilder has made six signings this summer as he looks to improve upon last year's 12th-placed finish, having ended only three points above the relegation zone in 2013-14.

The 47-year-old left Oxford to take up his role with Northampton in January 2014, becoming the ninth manager to work under chairman and owner David Cardoza, who has been with the Cobblers for 12 years.

"I have 100% trust in the chairman and in the decisions he makes," said Wilder.

"He's not a selfish person and the reason I came to the football club is because of that. I came to the football club because of his long-term view and ambition."
