FA fines Swansea's James Demetriou after betting offences

Swansea City forward James Demetriou has been fined £700 by the Football Association for betting offences.

A statement on the FA website said the 19-year-old "has been severely warned as to his future conduct and fined £700 after admitting multiple breaches of FA Rule E8 in relation to betting".

The FA says the charges related to 13 bets placed on football matches between 3 December 2013 and 21 January 2015.

Demetriou was born in Australia but has played for Cyprus Under-21.

He joined Swansea, external from Nottingham Forest on a free transfer in August 2014 but has not made his senior debut.
