Partick Thistle: Alan Archibald wants more new arrivals

Partick Thistle manager Alan Archibald would like to bring in "four or five" new players for next season.
"I'm happy with the group we have at the moment, there is a good spine to the team," Archibald told BBC Scotland.
"We'll need to bring through a couple of the younger lads because the budget is tight.
"But we need a few new faces. We've lost Stephen O'Donnell, Conrad Balatoni and Lyle Talyor, so we need to get those guys replaced."
Goalkeeper Tomas Cerny was recruited after Scott Fox moved to to Ross County.
Kallum Higginbotham has also left to join Premiership rivals Kilmarnock, with winger David Amoo recruited this week to fill the gap.
"He brings a bit of pace and creativity to the side," said Archibald of the 24-year-old formerly with Carlisle United.
"Kallum brought a lot of goals and assists and hopefully he can do that too, although I don't think they are alike in the way they play.
"David is a good age and had a couple of other offers in England's League One.
"But this is a good place to come and play and this is a good league for players to come and show how good they are and maybe progress from it."

"I like running at defenders, getting crosses in the box. Hopefully, the fans will enjoy seeing that and I can bring it to them." |
Thistle began a new youth programme two years ago and Archibald is sure the strategy will benefit the Glasgow club.
"We brought through a couple last year - Liam Lindsay and Declan McDaid," he added.
"But we need to make sure these guys are ready and we don't just force them in.
"Every fan loves to see one of their own playing. I was brought through a youth academy and you always get a bit more time from the punters."
Thistle finished eighth last term, with Archibald describing the team's target as "survival, first and foremost" before setting his sights a little higher.
"Last season gave us a glimpse of how close we can get to a top-six place," he said.
"There was maybe three or four teams all with a wee chance with five weeks to go [before the split]. It's just about getting that right run in place."
