Valon Behrami: Watford sign Hamburg midfielder

Behrami has played at three World Cups with Switzerland

Watford have signed Switzerland midfielder Valon Behrami from Hamburg on a three-year deal.

The 30-year-old returns to the Premier League having spent two-and-a-half years at West Ham, from July 2008 until January 2011.

He has also had spells with Serie A sides Lazio, Fiorentina and Napoli, where he won the Coppa Italia in 2014.

Behrami, who penned a three-year deal at Hamburg last year, has won 59 Swiss caps and played at three World Cups.

Having made 22 appearances for Hamburg last season, he becomes new Hornets manager Quique Sanchez Flores's sixth signing following their promotion to the Premier League,

He has already signed France midfielder Etienne Capoue who joined from Tottenham for a club record fee, striker Matej Vydra, defenders Jose Holebas, external and Sebastian Prodl and goalkeeper Giedrius Arlauskis.
