Jordi Amat could be fit for the start of the season as the Swansea defender is ahead of schedule in his recovery from a broken bone in his foot.

The 23-year-old centre-back missed the final three games of last season.

But the Spaniard is back in training and is set to be available for Swansea's Premier League opener away to champions Chelsea on 8 August.

"He picked up his injury... last season and he's back doing work on the pitch now," said Swans coach Kris O'Leary.

"I think he's probably about two weeks away from joining fully into the group, which is probably ahead of schedule."
