Celtic unfurling the Scottish Premiership flag at the start of season 2014-15

Ronny Deila is determined to enjoy the unfurling of the Scottish Premiership flag as he did not feel a part of the celebration at the start of last term.

The Norwegian took over from Neil Lennon last summer and led Celtic to their fourth straight league title.

"It is a different situation," he said ahead of Saturday's league opener against Ross County at Celtic Park.

"It is going to be a nice day and hopefully we can do the same as last year when we beat Dundee United 6-1."

Celtic's season has already started with Champions League qualifiers, with domestic football resuming this weekend.

"I didn't feel a part of it last year," said Deila of the flag ceremony. "This year I have been a part of it and that is the difference.

"It is going to be tough [this season] but I think we are a better football team than we were at the same time last year - hopefully that will give us more points.

"I learned a lot last year and I am still learning.

"But it is the same challenge that we had last year. We want to win games, entertain and win trophies.

"Now the season starts and I am looking forward to it.

"We haven't any footage of Ross County so we don't know exactly what we will meet.

"But we will be prepared to be at our best and if so, then we will have a good chance to win."

Celtic secured a 1-0 win over Qarabag in Wednesday's first leg of the Champions League third qualifying round.

The return leg takes place in Azerbaijan next midweek.

"It was 1-0, a good result, much better than 2-1 and it puts us in a good position but it is going to be a tough game in Baku," Deila added.

"They have to attack us and also defend well.

"If we score a goal it is going to be much harder for them and we know we are capable of doing it.

"There are few games when we have come off the pitch without scoring."
