League Two side Northampton Town have signed striker Sam Hoskins on a one-year contract after a successful trial.

Hoskins was released by Yeovil at the end of last season, having spent the previous two years at Huish Park.

The 22-year-old began his career at Southampton and made four substitute appearances in cup matches for Saints.

"He'll not shirk the physical challenge, he's bright and he's got a bit of pace," Cobblers manager Chris Wilder told BBC Radio Northampton.
