I still think the Liverpool scoreline is flattering they are way to open in midfield and they desperately miss Diaz. Gakpo may score goals but going forward he’s not got the same energy.

  7. 'Pros and cons of this new Liverpool shape'published at 21:06 BST

    HT: Eintracht Frankfurt 1-3 Liverpool

    Stephen Warnock
Former Liverpool defender on MOTD: UEFA Champions League

One of the things we are going to talk about on the show is that there are definite pros and cons of this new Liverpool shape, which was 4-4-2 without the ball in the first half but more like a 4-2-3-1 with it.

They have dominated the ball and are controlling the game, and created some big chances in open play as well as scoring from set-pieces.

The downside of setting up like this is when they lose the ball, because they are left open when they have that many attacking players high up the pitch. At the moment they look vulnerable defensively on the transition but that could be because their two defensive midfielders in this formation (Szoboszlai and Jones) are not defensive minded.

If you put Gravenberch and Mac Allister in there instead, they are players who sense danger rather than react to things like Szoboszlai and Jones are. They would be a lot more solid.

You can hear more from Warnock on MOTD: Uefa Champions League at 22:40 BST on BBC One and the BBC Sport website and app.

Another word about Andy Robertson. His positioning for Van Dijk's goal was quality. As good as an assist.

All the people complaining that Maresca was not taking this competition seriously enough with the team he has picked have gone very quiet now.

After all the stick that has come his way the past few weeks, is there a more relieved player than Ibrahima Konate right now?

His bullet header was even more powerful than Virgil van Dijk's goal.

This is a young 18-year-old Brazilian who is full of confidence.

The whole of Stamford Bridge fell silent watching him - he didn't rush, he had a long run-up, had a stutter and absolutely pinged it into the top right corner.

It is easy to take a penalty when you are 3-1 up, but he is 18 years old at a new club. That is a fantastic penalty.
