Sunderland: Yann M'Vila signs for Black Cats from Rubin Kazan

France midfielder Yann M'Vila has joined Sunderland on a season-long loan from Russian club Rubin Kazan.

The 25-year-old, who has 22 caps, is the Black Cats' fifth summer signing.

"I've wanted to play in the Premier League for a long time so I'm very happy to be here," he told Sunderland's website., external

Sunderland, who open their Premier League season at Leicester on Saturday, have the option of making the transfer permanent next summer.

M'Vila spent last season on loan at Italian side Inter Milan.

Sunderland's sporting director Lee Congerton said: "Yann is a player who is highly regarded by a number of the elite clubs across Europe, playing for his national team of France from a young age."
