Championship side MK Dons have signed former Bristol City, West Ham and Cardiff striker Nicky Maynard on a deal until the end of the season.
The 28-year-old was released by Cardiff in May after scoring three goals in 26 games across three seasons.
In total Maynard, who began his career at Crewe, has found the net 92 times in 259 appearances.
Meanwhile, Dons have also signed Brighton midfielder Jake Forster-Caskey, 21, on loan until 24 October.
Forster-Caskey has made three appearances for the Seagulls this season, scoring once in a League Cup loss to Walsall.
"I'm really pleased we have got him," Dons boss Karl Robinson said of Maynard.
"I think the fans will be pleased that we can get players of his quality through the door.
"With Nicky we were firm from the word go with what we could offer and initially it was a shock for him and his people.
"They had to go away and think about it but I'm delighted he's decided to sign," he told the club website., external
