Irish Premiership: Carrick Rangers 1-2 Coleraine

Coleraine made it three wins in a row in the Irish Premiership with Brad Lyons and James McLaughlin scoring their goals in a narrow win at Carrick.

Lyons had the Bannsiders in front after just 30 seconds when he headed in from Darren McAuley's left-wing cross.

Carrick equalised with a well-struck 20-yard drive by Ben Roy on 11 minutes.

James McLaughlin fired the winner in the 57th minute for Coleraine who had skipper Howard Beverland sent-off late on for a second yellow card foul.

Coleraine stay fourth in the table but are now only four points behind leading clubs Crusaders and Linfield.

Coleraine manager Oran Kearney: "We took our goals well and maybe should have had a few more.

"James McLaughlin is a quality finisher with a real eye for goal, as he has shown in recent games.

"We have a good blend in our team of young enthusiastic boys and more seasoned pros."

Carrick boss Gary Haveron: "I felt we deserved something from the game - there was not much between the two sides.

"It was frustrating because we are not getting decisions at the minute.

"Bar the match against Crusaders and second half at Linfield, we are being competitive.

"But I am tired of being competitive and not getting the wins."
