Irish Premiership: Dungannon Swifts 0-1 Cliftonville

Cliftonville remain third in the table after Chris Curran's 27th-minute goal gave them victory over Dungannon.

The win leaves the Reds unbeaten in five games under interim manager Gerard Lyttle and the Swifts without a triumph over their opponents in 26 attempts.

Curran volleyed home the winner right-footed into the corner of the net from seven yards after the ball fell kindly to him inside the area.

Ciaran Murray went close and Andy Coleman saved from Tiarnan McNicholl.

The Reds dominated the first half and Stephen Garrett cut inside, but the ball was cleared by Coleman.

After Curran's ultimately decisive goal, Jay Donnelly lost control when well placed and the ball fell into the hands of Coleman.

The Swifts showed plenty of endeavour but lacked a cutting edge up front as goalmouth action was at a premium.

Andrew Mitchell fired wide in their only chance of the game on 77 minutes, after which the visitors squandered a number of chances to increase their lead.

Ciaran Murray had a chance, while Coleman twice denied substitute McNicholl.
