Bolton Wanderers forward Zach Clough has signed a new deal which will keep him at the club until 2019.

The Trotters academy graduate, 20, has made 18 appearances for the struggling Championship side, scoring seven goals.

Manchester-born Clough's previous contract had been set to expire at the end of next season.

Meanwhile, manager Neil Lennon has confirmed that midfielder Jay Spearing's leg injury, suffered in the loss to Burnley, is not serious.

The 26-year-old former Liverpool player was forced off in the 36th minute of the Clarets' 2-0 victory, but he did not suffer any broken bones.

Bolton are bottom of the Championship table, with only one win from 11 games so far.
