Molde manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer believes Ronny Deila will one day leave Celtic for the English Premier League.

The former Manchester United striker has returned for a second spell as Molde boss on Wednesday, just over 24 hours before the Europa League clash with Deila's side.

Solskjaer, 42, says it is the "natural step" for his fellow Norwegian.

"He can go far because he is an innovative coach, he is enthusiastic," said Solksjaer.

"I have got a lot of time for him.

"When you go to Celtic with all the demands and expectations, if you withstand that pressure, I think that gives him a great chance of maybe going to the Premier League one day.

"I think he has done great (at Celtic). We have seen a Ronny Deila team playing football.

"It takes time and you need time, but they look like what Ronny did in Norway.

"You can see the rotations, you can see the triangles, the passing and the movement."

Deila has been under pressure at Celtic after twice failing to take them into the Champions League group stages, then initially trailing Aberdeen in the Scottish Premiership title race before reaching top spot at the weekend.

While Molde lead Group A with four points from six, Celtic have let slip leads against Ajax and Fenerbahce to draw both their games.

"Of course, there is a demand for results all the time," said Solksjaer, who has won the Norwegian league title twice and a Norwegian Cup in his previous spell at the club.

"You have to win the league, win the Scottish Cup and have got to be in the Champions League, although this time around they are playing us."

Solskjaer admits he has not had a lot of time to think about Celtic, and instead will let caretaker Erling Moe be at the forefront of preparations for the game in Norway.

"It is good to be back at this fantastic stage playing against such a fantastic club," he said.

"I think I know what to expect. It is going to be a tight game.

"Maybe people will think Molde is an easy target for Celtic, but at home we are capable of giving them a good game.

"Hopefully we will give them a good game and it will not be me beating Ronny, it will be my boys, hopefully, beating Celtic."
