Scotland returned to the top of Group 1 of Euro 2017 qualifying as they easily dispatched Belarus at Fir Park.

Kim Little's long ball was headed in by Jane Ross and Little also set up Caroline Weir for the second just after the break.

Rachel Corsie chipped goalkeeper Ina Batsianouskaya to make it three, then Ross's header and Lisa Evans' strike made it five.

Jo Love finished off the rout with two stunning late goals.

Anna Signeul's side are back in action on Tuesday away to Macedonia, who lost 4-0 to Scotland's nearest group rivals Iceland on Thursday.

Ifeoma Dieke pulled out through injury shortly before kick-off, however her loss in the Scottish defence was never likely to be a cause for concern with all the action coming at the other end.

Ross headed the first of her two goals shortly before the break

It was a defender, Corsie, who found herself with the game's opening chance when Weir's floating ball through the middle picked her out, but a poor touch let her down when free of the defence.

For all Scotland's early possession, Batsianouskaya had little to do in a poor first half for the hosts.

Evans sent another dangerous cross on to the head of the unmarked Weir in the six-yard box but the Bristol Academy midfielder could not keep her header down.

Weir went even closer when her volley from Hayley Lauder's free-kick was deflected on to the post.

It looked like Belarus would make it to the break level until Ross broke the deadlock.

The Vittsjo GIK striker slipped behind her marker to meet Little's lofted pass and nod past the goalkeeper.

The Scotland support did not have as long to wait in the second half for a goal, this time Weir scoring within seconds of the restart; stretching to poke the ball past Batsianouskaya after a one-two with Little.

Scotland had now found their rhythm. Corsie and Ross exchanged passes before the former deftly struck the third.

Little's free-kick was palmed off the line, Weir fired over then Ross headed just wide all within the space of a few minutes with Scotland now a different prospect from the first half.

Ross nodded in her second and Scotland's fourth with an easy header from Little's corner, before Evans raced through to stroke the ball into the corner for the fifth.

Scotland goalkeeper Gemma Fay had been a virtual spectator but needed Eilish McSorley to bail her out with a goal-line clearance after she failed to deal with a cross.

Lauder fired wide as Scotland searched for a sixth and it arrived in stunning fashion when Love smacked a right-foot shot straight into the top corner from outside the box.

And she made it seven with another cute finish; coolly picking her spot in the far corner from the centre of the box.
