Portadown fall to Shamrock Park defeat

Liam Martin scored twice and Ryan Campbell once as Ballinamallard inflicted a stunning 3-0 defeat on struggling Portadown at Shamrock Park.

Martin headed home at the backpost from Jason McCartney's cross from the left five minutes after the interval.

Two minutes later Campbell lifted the ball over David Miskelly and knocked the ball into the empty net.

Eight minutes from time Martin cut in and curled a left-foot shot into the corner to complete the scoring.

The Mallards began brightly and Adam Leckey saw his powerful shot cleared off the line by Sean Mackle in the early stages.

Alvin Rouse denied Gary Twigg at the other end, then Martin saw an effort deflected round the post by Chris Casement after he had met a Campbell cross.

Martin's opener set Whitey Anderson's side on their way, while Johnny Lafferty provided the pass for Campbell to run through and score the second.

Martin's second made it a miserable day for the under-performing Ports.
