Carrick Rangers come from two goals down to draw with Ballymena United

Carrick fought back from two down to secure a 2-2 draw with Ballymena in an entertaining Premiership encounter.

United striker David Cushley went closest in the first half with all four goals coming after the interval.

Cushley fired into the bottom corner for the opener and he added the second after rounding keeper Brian Neeson.

Ryan Kane curled in from a free-kick to give Carrick hope and they levelled through Ben Roy's strike nine minutes from time.

The Sky Blues remain ninth in the standings and one place above Rangers.

What they said

Carrick manager Gary Haveron: "The response was excellent to get something out of the game and it was no more than we deserved.

"We really should have been two ahead by the time they scored - we missed two one-on-ones.

"But with being 2-0 down with what was left on the clock we would have obviously taken it (a draw)."
