League Two strugglers Newport County and Yeovil shared the points in an uninspiring match at Rodney Parade.

Scott Barrow had the best chance for the home side, but his shot was smothered at the far post.

Joe Day tipped over a late looping header from Harry Cornick to deny Yeovil their first win in 11 games.

The point extends Newport's unbeaten run to five and keeps them four points ahead of Yeovil, who occupy the second relegation place.

Newport manager John Sheridan told BBC Radio Wales: "I think we should have won the game.

"I thought it was a good performance from us, especially in the second half.

"I'm obviously disappointed that we haven't won the game because it would have given us that little bit of [points] advantage over Yeovil, but I'm pleased by the way we played."
