Irish Premiership: Linfield 1-2 Cliftonville

Jay Donnelly's winner for Cliftonville at Windsor Park saw them take over from Linfield in second place in the Irish Premiership table.

Cliftonville had taken a 13th-minute lead through a David McDaid penalty after defender Mark Haughey had blocked a Caoimhin Bonner shot with his arms.

Andrew Waterworth struck Linfield's equaliser on 21 minutes with a fine shot from just outside the area.

Donnelly swept in the winner 17 minutes from time from Chris Curran's pass.

The results stretches Cliftonville's unbeaten league run against their Belfast rivals to 11 matches and leaves former Northern Ireland striker David Healy still seeking a first home Premiership success since taking over as Linfield manager.

The early penalty came when, from a corner, Bonner's shot was charged down at close range by Haughey and referee Andrew Davey pointed to the spot for hands.

Waterworth's reply was a good finish, the striker taking advantage of Ryan Catney's slip by running through to shoot in off the far post.

Linfield seemed to be pressing for a second goal after the break with Waterworth and Kirk Millar going close.

But it was Cliftonville who found the winner, as Tomas Cosgrove fed Curran who delivered from the right for Donnelly to net from seven yards.
