Premier League predictions: Lawro v Charlatans singer Tim Burgess

BBC Sport's football expert Mark Lawrenson is pitting his wits against a different guest each week this season.

Lawro's opponent for this weekend's Premier League fixtures is Tim Burgess, the lead singer of The Charlatans.

Image caption,

Burgess says his favourite FA Cup memory is when Man Utd beat Liverpool in the 1977 final. "There is nothing better than beating Liverpool in a cup final," he said.

Burgess is a Manchester United fan and told BBC Sport: "My all-time United hero is Gary Neville, because of his passion really - he has got the club running through his veins - and he has become a friend of mine as well.

"He joined us on stage and played guitar when the Charlatans did a show on the roof of his hotel in July, on the five-a-side pitch.

"I thought it would be a great thing to ask him to play - I knew he would be nervous but I also knew he wouldn't back out of it.

"He played 'Just When You're Thinkin' Things Over' which is one of his favourites, and it was brilliant. He is a great musician - but he is good at everything isn't he?"

Our scoring system has changed this season and a correct result (picking a win, draw or defeat) is now worth 10 points. The exact score earns 40 points.

Last week, Lawro got four correct results from 10 Premier League games, with no perfect scores.

His score of 40 points saw him beat British NBA star Luol Deng, who picked three correct results and no perfect scores.

We are keeping a record of the totals for Lawro and his guests (below), and showing a table of how the Premier League would look if all of Lawro's predictions were correct (at the bottom of the page).
