Manager David Wagner says Huddersfield Town are up and running after guiding the Championship club to their first win since taking charge last month.

Saturday's 2-0 win at Birmingham City lifted the Terriers to 19th and out of the relegation spots.

Former Borussia Dortmund coach Wagner, 44, had failed to take a point from his previous two games in charge.

"We're beginning on our way now that we've got our first result for all our hard work," he told BBC Radio Leeds.

Victory at St Andrew's, against a Blues side that started the day sixth in the table, ended Huddersfield's six-game winless run, dating back to 20 October.

"Everybody can see the difference - last week was better than the week before, this game was better than the last," said Wagner.

"It is small steps. The squad is very open and they like to work.

"This shows that hard work gets results and this is what we will do in the next weeks and months - we will work hard for our results."
