BBC Scotland to screen Hearts and Aberdeen Scottish Cup tie

Hearts have won the Scottish Cup eight times, with Aberdeen winners on seven occasions

BBC Scotland will screen live coverage of the Scottish Cup fourth round tie between Heart of Midlothian and Aberdeen at Tynecastle.

Both sides face each other on Saturday 9 January, with a 17:30 GMT kick-off, and the tie will also be streamed live on the BBC website.

Rangers will play either Cowdenbeath or Arbroath on Sunday 10 January with a 13:00 GMT kick-off.

Stranraer will host Celtic at 15:15 GMT, also on Sunday afternoon.

All other ties are due to be played at 15:00 GMT on the Saturday.

Hearts last faced the Dons in the Cup in 2010, with Aberdeen winning 2-0 at Pittodrie.

The game will also be nine s years to the day they last met at Tynecastle, external in the Cup, where Hearts were 3-0 winners before going on to lift the trophy with a penalty shoot-out win over Gretna.

Aberdeen won 3-1 in Edinburgh in September, and the two meet again at Pittodrie on Saturday, with four points separating them in the Premiership.

Hearts, last winners in 2012, have won the trophy eight times, while Aberdeen have lifted it on seven occasions but not since 1990.

Inverness Caledonian Thistle are the current holders after defeating Falkirk 2-1 in last season's final.
