Newport County P-P Hartlepool United

A waterlogged pitch at Rodney Parade forced Newport County's League Two game with Hartlepool United to be postponed.

The decision was made by the match referee following a pitch inspection at 08:00 GMT on Saturday morning.

Heavy rain fell in south Wales overnight, with further downpours expected through the day on Saturday.

Hartlepool's Boxing Day match at home to Notts County had also been called off because of adverse weather conditions.

Both sides will be in FA Cup third-round action next Saturday against Championship opposition. Newport will be at home to Blackburn Rovers, while Hartlepool will host Derby County.
