Chris Todd hopes his Eastleigh side can progress in two cup competitions in the week ahead

Eastleigh manager Chris Todd says he is getting more attention from agents following his squad's exploits against Bolton in the FA Cup third round.

"It's good, hopefully they will come calling with a player who grabs my attention," he told BBC Radio Solent.

National League Eastleigh face the Trotters again in a replay on Tuesday but turn their immediate attention to progressing in the FA Trophy.

The Spitfires face Gateshead in the second round at home on Saturday.

"I'm getting calls from agents who have now heard the name of the club and seen what we're about," Todd said.

"It's snowballing, but it could lead to me finding a player who makes us stronger as a squad."

Todd will have an eye on the state of Eastleigh's pitch at the Silverlake Stadium for the visit of fellow National League side Gateshead.

Following days of heavy rain, it had to go through three pitch inspections before being passed fit for the 1-1 draw against Bolton last Saturday.

"It's not looking great at present," he added. "It's a bit wet and boggy, but the weather has been a bit drier for a couple of days.

"As long as there's no sudden downpour, we'll be alright. But we're prepared for it and we know what to expect from the surface if the game goes ahead."

Todd will be without Yemi Odubade for between four to six weeks after the striker injured his hamstring against Bolton.
